Presence of every nation is their language. We can say that from this aspect if we can't imagine state without official language, also it is difficult to imagine modern times without journalism. Because journalism is a field related to language.
The issue of language is always relevant in journalism. Prominent publicists of Azerbaijan also gave great importance to the issue of language in their time. The articles they wrote on this topic show that they constantly struggle to preserve their mother tongue. For example, Hasan Bey Zardabi's "Dil Dəvası", Jalil Mammadguluzade's "Şeir bülbülləri", Omer Faig Nemanzade's "Eşq və məhəbbət", Mahammad Amin Rasulzade's "Dil-ictimai mühüm bir amil", Bakhtiyar Vahabzade's "Ana dilim-ana köküm", Uzeyir Hajibeyli's "Hansı vasitələr ilə dilimizi öyrənib kəsbi maarif etməliyik", and so on. Some of his writings show that the issue of language is an integral part of journalism.
Some people call journalism profession, in addition to this other people call this field art.
Great Leader Haydar Aliyev called journalism an art and he said:
"Journalism is an art which requires great hard work, special effort, professional approach, evaluating events operatively and ability to correctly analyze processes".
This field was created for serving the nation. But in modern period there are some points-barriers which cause the development and activity of journalism. One of them and the most important point is mixing journalism and blogging.
Journalist is a person who delivers the event to society. Firstly, the journalist should be able to listen as much as he/she can speak. At the place, where the event happened, they should be objective, unbiased, impartial while he/she delivers information to the audience. But the work of journalists is not limited to that. He/she may encounter confusing points, with other words disinformation during their activity period. That's why, in certain sense it is not true to difficult journalist's work, people should help journalist. Because there is a journalist to illuminate problems and desires of people. Hindering his work by any means and restricting the journalist's right to access information, or creating confusion in this direction in other ways, is to put not only the journalist in the shadow, but also the society.
Related to this, journalist's right to access information the first paragraph of Article 17 of the "Law of the Republic of Azerbaijan on Media" states:
"Media subjects and journalists have the right to receive correct information about the public, political, social and economic situation in society, about the activities of state bodies (institutions), municipalities, enterprises and organizations, non-governmental organizations, political parties, and officials. This right is defined by law. This can not be limited except in cases".
One of the points that complicates the work of journalists is that some bloggers introduce or call themselves as a journalist. However, the fact that some bloggers compare themselves to journalists in the "word" is a point that confuses people. First of all, if any blogger considers himself or herself as a journalist, he/she should first of all be aware of the professional ethics of journalism. Second, he/she should know that journalism is not just about talking, but also about listening. Thirdly, they should research what exactly blogging is, define the direction of activity, so that they, as followers, know what they are watching and why they are watching it.
Today it is very easy to see someone with a microphone everywhere. Because it has become commonplace. As a result of all this, people recognize bloggers as journalists, and when a real journalist wants to ask questions and get answers, society seems to turn away.
In particular, during the 44-day Patriotic War, the speed of the Internet was reduced to a necessary extent, and access to social networks was restricted. As a journalist, this step can be evaluated positively. Because this step limited the activities of bloggers or active social network users, it reduced the possibility of disinformation to a minimum. This contributed to the work of quite a few journalists, probably in the right direction. Because, especially in this period, the people did not believe in some bloggers who called themselves journalists, but in official institutions and official information on television.
Of course, this was one of the most correct steps. In fact, it would not be correct to consider it only the duty of society to distinguish between bloggers and journalists. Because it is necessary to clarify and instill in the people who are a journalist and blogger. For this, we - journalists should continue our activities in a journalistic manner in order to prevent such situations. Therefore, everyone should know their job correctly and should not prevent the journalist from reaching the people and the people from reaching the journalist in any way, and should not create confusing situations.
In short, the representatives of the "IV power" are not "social network masters", they work with the population. Their job is not to gain ratings from the existing problems of the people, but to really be a light for the people's problems.
